GIRIJANANDA CHOWDHURY INSTITUTE OF PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCE-TEZPUR is established by Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society in the year 2020. This is the first pharmacy institute in the state of Assam established under Public Private Partnership (PPP model) by Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society and Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Assam. The Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society is a registered service organization set up in the year 1992 to make significant contribution for social upliftment through education and also to inculcate among the youth a sense of discipline.
The motto of the Society is “Truth, Discipline & Excellence” and ever since its inception its aim has been to establish a morally sound educational system which not only produces competent professionals but also excellent human beings contributing towards the welfare of the Society. Towards this, the institute has introduced a broad based mentoring system to guide / counsel the students to improve their performance in all spheres of activities in the institute.
GIRIJANANDA CHOWDHURY INSTITUTE OF PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCE-TEZPUR is affiliated to Assam Science and Technology University, Government of Assam and Approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi Govt. of India and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), MHRD New Delhi. The institute offers two years diploma programme, Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) and four years undergraduate programme, Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) from the academic session 2020-2021.
The prime objective of GIRIJANANDA CHOWDHURY INSTITUTE OF PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCE-TEZPUR is to provide the best Pharmaceutical Education in Assam and the North-Eastern region of India. In keeping with its objective of providing the best possible pharmaceutical education, the college has built up a strong infrastructure in terms of building, class rooms, laboratories, library, Seminar hall, playground and hostels for boys. All the laboratories are equipped with modern instruments for education and research in the field of Pharmacy.
